These terms apply to activatecte.com, app.activatecte.com, the Activate Varsity Esports League (AVEL), and ActivateXP. They are offered by Activate CTE (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using these services, you agree to these terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use AVEL and ActivateXP
AVEL and ActivateXP are school programs. Schools register through an advisor, and AVEL staff approve each school. Students join through their school’s sign-up link and must be approved by their school advisor. Advisors must use their school or work email, and must never use a student’s email for a staff account.
2. Accounts
- Keep your sign-in private. Do not let anyone else use your account.
- Give accurate information, including your gamer tag.
- Tell your advisor or AVEL staff right away if you think someone used your account.
3. League rules and conduct
Everyone in AVEL agrees to follow the AVEL rules, the Student Handbook, their school’s rules, and the rules of each game. This includes being respectful in Match Lobby chats, Discord, and during matches. Harassment, threats, cheating, hate speech, and sharing inappropriate content are not allowed. AVEL staff may review reports, post rulings, remove content, change results, or remove a player or team from the league.
4. Content you submit
You keep ownership of what you submit, such as clips, screenshots, messages, and ActivateXP work. You give Activate CTE permission to store and display it as needed to run the program, for example showing an approved clip in the league or sharing reports with your school. Only submit content you have the right to share, and nothing that shows other students without permission.
5. Text messages
Text messages from AVEL and Activate CTE are optional. If you opt in, you agree to receive recurring messages such as match reminders and program updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent to receive texts is never required to take part. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle phone numbers.
6. Third-party services
AVEL uses games and services made by other companies, such as Discord and the game publishers. Your use of those services is covered by their own terms. Activate CTE is not affiliated with or endorsed by those companies unless we say so.
7. Changes and availability
We work to keep our services running, but we cannot promise they will always be available or error free. We may change schedules, rules, or features. We may update these terms, and we will change the effective date when we do.
8. Disclaimer and limits
Our services are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, Activate CTE is not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses from using the services.
