Help South Alabama families rebuild after Hurricane Isaias

Isaias hit the Gulf Coast on October 9, 2026. ActivateCTE is organizing crews of high school and college career and technical education students, supervised by their trades instructors, along with industry volunteers, to clear fallen trees, repair roofs and fix other wind damage at homes in Mobile, Baldwin, Escambia and Conecuh counties.

How it works

Crews come from high school and college construction, carpentry, electrical and HVAC programs. Their instructors run each job site.

A family asks for help

Homeowners contact us directly or through a school or community partner.

An instructor scopes the job

A trades educator visits the home, plans the repairs and matches the work to the students’ training.

Students do the repairs

The crew works under the instructor’s supervision until the job is done.

Where your gift goes

Materials

Lumber, drywall, flooring and hardware for each repair.

Safety gear and tools

Protective equipment for every student and the tools each crew needs.

Travel

Transportation, meals and lodging so crews can reach the homes.

  • $500 helps pay for tree removal at a storm-damaged home.
  • $1,000 helps repair wind damage to a home, like a damaged roof, siding or windows.

Are you an industry partner who’d like to volunteer?

Licensed tradespeople can work alongside student crews and take on the jobs that need a licensed professional. We need volunteers in these areas:

  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • HVAC
  • Roofing
  • Tree removal
  • Carpentry and framing
  • Drywall and flooring

Companies can also sponsor a crew, donate materials or match employee gifts. We can invoice your company for a sponsorship.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes, to the extent allowed by law. ActivateCTE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 99-2894067), and no goods or services are provided in exchange for donations.

Can I give by check?

Yes. Make your check payable to ActivateCTE, write “Isaias Rebuild Fund” in the memo line, and mail it to:

Will I get a receipt?

Stripe emails you a receipt as soon as you give. For gifts of $250 or more, we also send an acknowledgment letter for your tax records.

My family was affected by Isaias. How do we ask for help?

Contact us with your name, location and a short description of the damage, and someone from our team will follow up.
